Bhagavad Gita · Chapter 1 · The Battlefield of Belief

What Belief Is Holding You Back?

Arjuna was not physically stopped on the battlefield. He was stopped by what he believed — about himself, about others, about what was possible. Every limiting pattern has a belief underneath it. Name it and you begin to loosen its hold.

The Three Belief Patterns
  • Self Doubt — Beliefs about who you are.
"I am not enough, not capable, not deserving." The deepest category — these feel like facts, not beliefs.
  • World View — Beliefs about how the world works.
"People cannot be trusted. It is not safe to be visible. Life is fundamentally unfair."
  • Possibility — Beliefs about what's achievable.
"It is too late. People like me don't get to have that. I've tried and it never works."
"A belief is not a fact. It is a decision your mind made — often a long time ago — that you have forgotten you can unmake."
